Bhatkal Sports News

India has produced limited world class pace bowling all rounders who can define class with bat and pace with the ball, and this rarity has always costed India a price when playing ICC tournaments. It was Kapil Dev who emerged as the show stopper for Indian Cricket Team in the late 70s giving the cricket fraternity of India a ray of hope of giving out more Kapil Devs to cricket. But with retirement of Dev, Indian again suffered due to the absence of a pace bowling all rounder until Irfan Pathan made his debut 10 years after Kapil's retirement from International cricket. Though Pathan didn't succeed like Kapil but again gave hopes to the Indian fans but he too soon faded away. Currently Indian Cricket is investing much of it resource on Hardik Pandya who has had a promising start to his career and has given glimpsed of once again India producing World class pace bowling all rounder, but only time has the answer if he would survive on the international scene for long and sustain reputation for himself.

A fast bowling all rounder is always a advantage for any captain as it allows him to experiment in both bowling and batting department while giving him more room for the experiment also when playin 6 batsmen 5 bowlers or 7 batsmen and 4 regular bowlers.

Batsmen who can bowl with pace are not to be found easily especially in the sub-continental conditions like India, Bhatkal too has not seen many of the pace bowling all rounders who rose to fame with both their bowling and batting skills. But a deeper look into the local squads gave Bhatkalsport.com to list out 5 best pace bowling all rounders from the 'Not so many in the list'.

We have listed out five players with the best fast bowling and batting skills, investment on whose careers can pave way for Bhatkal players for the entry in higher levels of cricket as is the vision and mission of Bhatkal Sports Academy.

Here is the list of Top Five Fast Bowling All Rounders of Bhatkal:

#5Shammas Mohtesham:

In a rather short career yet while playing for Royal Sports Centre, Shammas Mohtesham has developed a hope for his team management of attaining greater heights in the cricketing circles, and rightly the management is investing their resources on the young player, who surely has more to put on display than what his numbers suggests currently. In 22 Matches he has played Shammas has scored 382 runs at the average of 20.11 with a strike rate of 146 while in the bowling department the young man has plucked 16 wickets so far at the average of 32.25. Surely Shammas has a lot in him to display to the Bhatkal cricket fans and we hope he just goes on to improve his numbers in the coming seasons.

#4 Ikrama Motiya:

Playing for the local club Lion Sports Centre the young lad is the best person who can implement the tennis ball cricket technique and skills in the season ball cricket. The unorthodox tennis ball batting and some fine pace bowling performance over the last 2 years has seen Ikrama rise as the pace bowling all rounder that his team can count on in the pressure situations. With the bat Ikrama has amassed 786 runs in and just 47 innings so far where he batted at an average of 23.12 with two half centuries to his names, while with the ball he has better stats on display where he has bagged 74 wickets in 57 matches with an average of 18.07 and one 4 wickets haul.

#3 Asjad Hyder:

Undoubtedly the most promising young all rounder from Bhatkal Asjad plays for local club Asadullah and is one of their main guns along with Rithesh Bhatkal. With his sharp bowling with the new ball he can trouble any quality batsman on his day. Asjad also open the bowling for his team while he bats in the middle order and most often plays the role of an innings' achor when his team looks in trouble. Some fine knocks with the bat and good performances with the ball over the years has made sure the young man remains in lime light, and has also helped him bag some nice and fine amount of money at the MPL auctions recently held in Mangaluru. With the bat in 41 innings he has scored 852 runs at an average of 24.34 with 5 half centuries and a high score of 80*, with the ball he has 53 wickets in 42 innings at the average of 19.79 with one 4 wickets haul. With the ball Asjad has been much more dangerous than his numbers speak and someday he would want to balance his numbers and threat.

#2 Anas Mulla:

Clearly the best cricketer the Bhatkal has produced and the one from Bhatkal who missed out from a very close range of playing for the Indian Cricket Team wearing the journey of the pride while bleeding blue. Anas has been missed by a jack on his luck at times when he was about to play for the National team. If you were expecting this senior pro to be the Number 1 in this list then this time his running age played the spoilsport for him here as the 33 years old Anas now has some competition from the youngster. Although no player can match his enthusiasm and commitment level in the Bhatkal cricketing circles but age doesn't look to be favouring him now. Yet Anas has had played valuable and match changing performance recently to justify his stature as a legend of Bhatkal Cricket. Obviously nobody can forget his 3 consecutive maidens and wickets in the NGT Bhatkal trophy 2018 finals against Asadullah which almost won his team the trophy. Speaking of numbers Anas has played 28 matches (after Bhatkalsport.com started maintaining the records and stats of cricket matches in and around Bhatkal) and has scored 622 runs at an handy average of 29.62 with five fifties at a strike rate of over 147 and a high score of 77.
